Bar coding

Bar coding is an imperative parameter for the success of traceability in any shipment and/or product throughout the supply chain; from the manufacturer to the final destination.

Bar coding also promotes a fast, efficient and reliable packing process and further facilitates complete batch tracking and minimises the risk of errors.

Missionpharma has implemented an advanced bar code system for complete batch tracking and warehouse management.

In-bound logistics Upon receipt of a product in our warehouses, the individual product is physically segregated batchwise, and the particular quantity of each batch is entered into our computer system along with the information of the manufacturing and expiry dates of the batch.

Based on the information in the computer system about the received batches, a barcode label is printed and the cartons are marked with this barcode providing us a direct coupling between the batch information in our system and the information on the actual carton.

Due to this barcode it is possible, at any given time, to trace the products in the individual carton back to the manufacturer. And in the same way, it is possible to track the connected sales order and the final destination of the goods.

When the products leave our warehouses, the bar code details are transferred directly to invoices and packing lists by means of radio-linked hand terminals with built-in bar code readers.

Kit production

For pharmaceuticals packed in kits, we register the content of each carton on batch level, why tracing of a batch number is possible down to the specific carton.

Each carton has a unique identification code, which consists of a carton number and a serial number, enabling us to distinguish between the individual cartons and to track a batch number down to the individual carton.

Furthermore, to facilitate easy distribution, a packing list is included on the outside of each carton containing the exact products, content and batch numbers in the particular carton.
