Supplies to the people of Southern Sudan

Missionpharma recently positioned ourselves as the main supplier of pharmaceutical products to the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS), which was founded after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) between North and South Sudan.

Missionpharma has been granted the majority of pharmaceutical products on the first tender issued by GoSS using World Bank Guidelines ("Rapid Impact Emergency Project and Southern Sudan Umbrella Health Program").

Last week we delivered the first installment to the project covering oral pharmaceuticals, injections and creams as well as laboratory equipment and supplies - all packed in kits.

Missionpharma chartered four DC8 planes to deliver the first kits in Juba.

The recipients of the health products are hospitals, Primary Health Care Centres and Primary Health Care Units based in all areas of Southern Sudan.

In total more than 60.000 cartons will be delivered in the duration of the contract. This corresponds to more than 2,400 cmb of pharmaceutical products, enough to fill more than 100 containers (20"). 

All products are packed as kits and each carton is marked with colour coding and a unique carton number in order to ease the local distribution. 

Each installment covers three months consumption and the total delivery comprises in total six installments over an 18 months period.

A Missionpharma team of qualified people was present in Juba upon delivery of the first installment in order to secure correct receipt and storage of products. This also includes the challenge of handling products requiring cool storage facilities.

The goods are stored in the recently renovated central warehouse in Juba.
