Traffic restrictions during Beijing Olympics 2008
|
During the Olympic Games this summer, traffic restrictions in the city of Beijing may cause delays in some of our shipments.
Some of the restrictions are already a reality and more will come during the next months.

In our effort to keep our customers and partners continuously up-to-date, we hereby highlight some of the points which we know until now:

From July 1st till September 20th all cars and trucks from other cities must obtain a specific approval to come into Beijing, which will make it more difficult to manage export deliveries to the airport of Beijing.

|
In the same period, cars and trucks are only allowed to drive every second day in order to minimise the traffic and pollution. In addition, vans will not be allowed for cargo deliveries.
|
|
|
|
Additional security and gas checks will be introduced on the highways into Beijing. This will almost double the time required for deliveries.
|
|
|
|
Security check in Beijing Airport is getting increasingly strict the closer we get to the opening of the Olympic Games. This may also cause delays in shipments.
