IEHK available from Missionpharma
Missionpharma now offers the Interagency Emergency Health Kit (IEHK) as a standard kit in our product range. IEHK 2006 is the third edition of the WHO Emergency Health Kit which was first launched in 1990. IEHK is a substitution of the New Emergency Health Kit (NEHK) from 1998.
IEHK is composed, packed and delivered according to WHO guidelines and is designed to meet the first primary healthcare needs of a displaced population without medical facilities. One kit provides medicines and medical devices for 10.000 people for approximately 3 months.
Recently, Missionpharma has entered into frame agreements with major NGO's, and the kit is usually available from stock for immediate delivery.

From NEHK to IEHK
IEHK takes into account the global HIV/AIDS epidemic, the increasing resistance to commonly available antimalarials and the field experiences of agencies using the emergency health kit.
The major revision of the kit is that it includes malaria modules with Artemether + Lumefantrine tablets, Artemether injection and diagnostic kits for the rapid diagnosis of malaria. Furthermore, the first line ARV drug, Zidovudine + Lamivudine, is added as a part of the Patient PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) module.
In addition, quantities of a number of medicines have been adjusted and some equipment changes have been done, e.g. IEHK only provides disposable syringes and needles.
