Interagency Emergency Health Kits to Kenya
As a result of the present violence in Kenya related to the controversy over the outcome of the presidential election in Kenya in December 2007, many people are in immediate need for emergency assistance.
According to information from Kenya Red Cross, over 100,000 people have been affected or displaced countrywide and many people have been reported dead and injured.
Kenya Red Cross Society personnel and volunteers are assisting the affected people throughout the country, taking the injured to hospitals and clinics.

Through the Red Cross organisation Missionpharma is dispatching Interagency Emergency Health Kits (IEHKs) to Kenya to accommodate the urgent need for medical assistance.
|
Each IEHK kit provides medicines and medical devices for 10.000 people for approximately 3 months.
Missionpharma has recently dispatched six complete Interagency Emergency Health Kits to Kenya in order meet the increased need for emergency aid.
|
The tension is still high in Kenya and people are being displaced into police stations, churches, schools and market centres. Many roads are still blocked which makes it difficult for humanitarian help to get through. Essential supplies and key markets have also been affected.
The IEHKs from Missionpharma are primarily used in mobile clinics to treat Internally Displaced Persons from the camps around the Nyanza region.
